Pumpkin Spice

A fall favorite that comes together in minutes. Pumpkin puree keeps this one dense and creamy, while cinnamon and maple syrup give it that classic warm-spice flavor.

Equipment

  • Food Processor
  • Measuring spoons
  • Rubber Spatula

Ingredients

3 medium ripe bananas, sliced and frozen

3/4 cup pumpkin puree (not pumpkin pie filling)

2 tablespoons maple syrup

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

Pinch of salt

Instructions

1. Add the frozen banana to a food processor and blend until broken into small crumbles.

    2. Add the pumpkin puree, maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

      3. Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides once or twice. This batch will look slightly softer going into the freezer than the others that's expected, since pumpkin puree adds extra moisture.

        4. Spoon into a container and freeze for at least 2 hours before scooping.

          Notes

Double check the label on your pumpkin puree pumpkin pie filling already has sugar and spices added, which will throw off both the sweetness and the flavor here.
